Get to Know Us
The Angel's Animals Holistic Seminars (Angel's Animals, LLC) were developed by Dr. Angelique Barbara in 2009 and have been offered online since 2015. Our courses were the first online courses of its kind and paved the way for other online educational programs. We have thousands of students and practitioners in over 30 countries. The majority of our certified practitioners decide to enroll in additional courses with us for their continuing education because they are very satisfied with the course layout and support they receive along the way. Continuing Education (CE) credits are offered through The National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, The International Veterinary Chiropractic Association, the International Association of Animal Massage and Bodywork/Association of Canine Water Therapy and other animal massage organizations. These courses provide state of the art learning techniques with quality, up to date information, making them one of the highest quality online animal bodywork courses available.

Dr. Angelique Barbara, DC
Dr. Angel is the our founder and a Doctor of Chiropractic who holds additional degrees in Veterinary Science (B.S.), Equine Science (Minor) and Veterinary Pathobiology (M.S.). Dr. Barbara has been passionate about animals her entire life and has spent the majority of her life studying animals (both in the classroom and in the field). She developed her first animal bodywork seminar in 2009. Her background in both the clinical and research animal health care world as well her experience as a human chiropractor give her a unique perspective on animal bodywork, which is evident in her courses.
Jennifer Thackery
Jennifer Thackery has been active in the veterinary and equine nutrition arena for over 27 years. Working as a veterinary technician, teaching at the local business college in their veterinary assistant program and developing their accredited equine program and also teaching those classes along with small animal courses. She studied Naturopathy and Holistic Nutrition in graduate school long after her Bachelors Degree in Biology with an emphasis on pre-veterinary science.
Heather Lundervold
Heather Lundervold has had horses her entire life and She has extensive equine knowledge. She started showing and competing with horses at age 7, continued on to high school, college rodeo and into her adult years.
Heather studied farm ranch management, equine science and marketing at Dickinson State University and ASU. Heather has worked as a equine dental assistant, veterinary assistant and vet tech at Turf Paradise.
Dr. Gisela Novaes, DVM
Dr. Gisela Novaes achieved the master degree in homeopathic medicine and the anthroposophic medicine certification. She is a member of the Viscum Vet Group from Switzerland. She has been passionate about working as an integrative veterinarian since the beginning of her career. Today she is one of the world's experts on the topic of the Viscum album in veterinary oncology, she developed clinical research on the subject and was granted an award as the best researcher at the Anthroposophic Medicine Conference in 2007.

Where are you located?
The founder and instructor, Dr. Angelique Barbara, is located in Florida, USA, however we have students, practitioners, staff and instructors all over the world.
Are these courses available to international students?
Yes, our courses can be completed from any location and are approved in most countries. Massage laws do vary from region to region though so you should check your local laws before practicing.
What currency are your prices in?
Our prices are all in United States Dollars (USD). If you are located outside of the USA, your credit card or PayPal account will automatically convert the price into your currency based on the conversion rate at the time of enrollment.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes, we do. Click here to view all of our payment options. If you have a coupon code, you can enter it at checkout when enrolling in a payment plan and it will provide you with a discount on each payment.
How do the payment plans work?
When you enroll in a payment plan, the first payment is made at the time of enrollment. Following payments are automatically charged to your card every 30 days until the course is paid in full. For example, if you enrolled on May 24th, your next payment would be charged on June 24th. A portion of the course material is made available to you with each monthly payment. If you enrolled in a 4 month payment plan, it would take you 4 months to have access to all the course material. The system is not set up to take early payments.
How long will I have access to the course material after completing a course?
Forever. You can log back in any point after completing a course to review the material. The courses are updated periodically, so you should definitely check back to see if there is new material.
Who will answer questions I have and how long does it take to receive an answer?
Dr. Angel along with her several highly qualified teaching assistants and co-instructors are available to provide guidance to students. Mary Detloff (located in Colorado, USA) is available to answer any questions regarding billing, enrollment, certificate shipping, our referral program and other trouble shooting. Normally emails are answered within 24 hours. If you do not see a response please check in with us because your email may have ended up in our spam folder or our response may have ended up in yours.
Am I able to interact with other students and practitioners?
Yes, once you enroll, you will receive an invitation to our FB group where you can interact with other students and those who have already completed the course. This is a great community where you can post questions, gain advice and share cases. We also have a community in thinkific (our course host) where students can interact.
Do you accept Federal Student Loans or Grants?
No, since we offer certifications rather than degrees, our courses are not eligible for federal funding or grants.
Is animal massage legal in my state?
If you are in the United States, you can check this website for a list of state regulations. If you are outside of the United States, it is recommended to check with your local Veterinary Board before practicing.
Do you offer refunds on courses?
Our policy is that we do not offer refunds on online courses since the material can be downloaded. We do however, offer free trials so you can test out the course before committing to it. You are also able to enroll in a payment plan and can cancel that plan early if you decide not to move forward with the course. If you are not happy with your course for some reason, please contact Dr. Angel. Your happiness is important to us and we will do everything possible to rectify any problems.
How are you able to teach these techniques through an online format?
Dr. Angel has structured the courses in a way that facilitates learning. Even though these courses are online, they are very hands on with practice time and demonstrative videos for you to follow. Your techniques are assessed through video submissions and case studies. The majority of our students do extremely well and are able to successfully and effectively perform the techniques. For those who need additional guidance, we do offer optional hands on workshops in several locations and free zoom meetings with our instructors. Dr. Angel was the first person to put these types of courses online in 2015 and thousands of students all over the world have successfully completed them.
How are students graded and what happens if I fail an exam or assignment?
Students are graded based on video submissions, case studies and online exams. All assignments and exams can be repeated as many times as needed to receive a passing grade. Everyone will successfully complete their certification if they are willing to put the time into it.
Are there specific start dates for the courses and how long do I have to finish the course?
No, our courses can be started at any time and you will have access to them immediately after enrolling. You will have as long as you need to finish the course! Our courses never expire so you can work at your own pace and will always have access to the course material.
